Winter Rules

Preferred Lies:

When a player’s ball lies in any part of the general area, the lie may be improved 6 inches by placing the ball, no closer to the hole. No relief is allowed if your ball is within 3 feet of a bush or tree.

Bunkers:

Since bunkers are not maintained in the winter, a player may lift the ball, rake or smooth the sand, and then replace the ball.

Dung Rule:

If a player’s ball rests atop or next to animal excrement in the general area, they shall be allowed to move it enough to eliminate the interference, no nearer the hole, and remain in the same course condition (fairway, rough, or bunker must stay in the fairway, rough, or bunker).

As a reminder:

When posting season begins again on March 1, Eagle Crest and the ECMGC has NOT adopted the local rule E5 Alternative to Stroke and Distance for Lost Ball or Ball Out of Bounds. If your ball may be lost or out of bounds, the penalty is Stroke and Distance and you must play from the last place you had a Ball in Play. It is strongly recommended that you hit a provisional ball if there is a possibility that your ball is lost or out of bounds before proceeding with your search.
