That’s two years running and 3 out of the last 4 years. They did it going away taking a 2 point lead and stretching it out to a 13 point win over Widgi Creek on a very strong showing by Mark Younger who took home first place medal honors for the A Flight with 44 points. Dave Billmaier also had a strong showing taking 2nd place honors in the A Flight with 40 points, and Ron Shoquist was in a tight 4 way tie for first in the B Flight with 35 points. Our Pro, Isaac Beurger, took top honors in the Pro Flight with 38 points. The entire team played well today as well as the rest of the team that may not have played in the final round but contributed throughout the summer to help Eagle Crest.
I will say as this years captain it was a whole lot more stressful putting the teams together for each event then it was playing in any of them over the past several years, now I know why Greg was ready to pass it on to someone else!
I do want to acknowledge and thank this years team, for their strong play, camaraderie, humor, humbleness (as golf has a way of putting us in our places most of the time), and understanding when their name didn’t get called. You all made it a fun and successful year.
